Ravenna is excited to see the "big rock"The last weekend of August we went to Mt. Rushmore with my family. South Dakota is really pretty and it was nice to get out of Gillette. Now we can cross off one more national landmark off of our list.

What happened to all her hair?? Or maybe that's the sunlight washing it out. Meh, no matter. She's still gorgeous.
What a fun little getaway! We visited there, oh, about 10 years ago, but I remember the park rangers being super nice, especially to my younger brothers and sisters. Did you drive on the pig-tail highway through the black hills? That was one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Oh, and I wanted to tell you....if you ever make to to Rapid City for a visit, there's this fantastic kids park. Ravenna would probably love it by the time she's about 2. My dad spent some of his growing up years in Rapid City and loved that park, and so took us kids when we were there on that trip and we loved it too! I think it was called Discovery Park or Playland or...I really don't know. But it had a fairy tale sort of theme. Lots of fun.
Her hais is actually a lot lighter now, but still the same consistency. She still has a great mullet.
Thanks for the ideas Lindsey! We did go up through the black hills and it was gorgeous! It is amazing what a difference only driving half an hour makes in the scenery! Once Ravenna gets bigger we will probably take her caving as there are supposed to be some amazing cave tours in the black hills.
That is cool that you went to Mt Rushmore. Brad and I were just discussing where we wanted to go for our 3 -day weekend. (Brad gets Columbus Day off) Anyways, one of our ideas was to go to Mt rushmore. Did you like it? BTW I gave you the wrong # my number is 4707, not 4704. Call if you are ever in Casper.
