The East Coast Invasion!

Guess where we are going for Christmas this year? Pennsylvania! Yay! We are so excited to be able to spend Christmas with Andrew's family and also to see some friends that we haven't seen for years because of our never ending hiatus in the West. In addition to spending time with the Whitlock's our plans include going to NYC, Washington D.C., and of course, Buena Vista, Virginia! We are really looking forward to it!

Any ideas for what to do in NYC in one day?

One day....
The Met (ask for student discount, they may be willing to work w/you on price)

Junior's cheescake

Bagels, from street vendors or cafe's

Regrettably, we ran out of time and $ or we would have gone to the Empire St. Bldg (it's open till 2am) or the Statue of liberty(order tix in advance, you have to wait in line forever....will take up 1/2 your entire day)

If you like steak, go to the place I listed on my blog

Times Square, better at night

A broadway show, if you time. Buy tix in advance so you don't have to wait in line for TKTS booth.

Hope that helps. Pack in as much as you can. Are you taking Ravenna along? That slows things down a bit. Bring a backpack carrier instead of a stroller.

You could stand in line to ice skate at Rockfellar, if you like that kind of thing. But they will have the giant x-mas tree there.

Also, if you have Ravenna, go to FAO Schwartz toy store. I wondered if they have that giant keyboard still, from the movie BIG.

Central Park--enormous, just walk thru part of it.

Sounds fun. I love the east coast. At least you are getting out of Wy for the holidays, we are stuck here. What airport do you fly out of, I think our closet airport is Denver, 4 hours away- can you believe it?

Can you say jealous! Too bad we won't be there this year. We did visit for Halloween, though, and Sarah learned to make Sister Johnston's soup so I won't have to go without!
